Alert Issued: Man Arrested With 7 Pistols, 14 Magazines During Crackdown | Jaipur News

Jaipur: A special team from the city police’s crime branch arrested a 27-year-old man and seized seven pistols and 14 magazines during a special crackdown in the aftermath of the murder of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi.
Additional Police Commissioner (Crime) Kailash Chandra Bishnoi said that the accused was identified as Sanjay Meena, a native of Todabhim in Karauli district and currently residing in Jagatpura, Jaipur, where he was preparing for competitive exams.
According to the police, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Mahipal Singh received special information about the movement of a suspect involved in arms trafficking in the city.
Sources in the city police revealed that the accused worked as a courier and was tasked with delivering weapons in Jaipur. “Two persons, Lala Ram and Kamal, had sent Meena to Jaipur with arms and ammunitions. The accused was instructed to reach the city and send a message to both of them before delivering weapons to a place selected by Ram,” said an official.
The Jaipur police stated that the accused received a payment of Rs 35,000 in advance through a mobile payment application.
Meena’s arrest comes in the wake of the city police issuing an urgent alert to all districts to heighten security measures following the escape of Mahendra Kumar alias Sameer, the chief weapon handler of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The CID-CB has issued a reward of Rs 5 lakh for information leading to the accused’s arrest.
Police mentioned that an alert has been issued to all districts to assist in tracking down Kumar. “He is a key logistics operator and weapons provider who harbored the killers of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi and also provided them with weapons,” said Bishnoi.
Kumar’s wife was arrested on Monday for harboring Nitin Fauji, one of the two shooters in the case. A police official mentioned that Kumar is believed to have fled with a significant arsenal.
