Jaipur: Jaipur Discom, which has been grappling with financial difficulties, has generated Rs 130 crore through the amnesty scheme aimed at recovering outstanding electricity dues from all consumer categories. Launched in January, the scheme has been availed of by 61,606 consumers to settle their dues. The discom has waived off interest and penalties amounting to Rs 31 crore.
Expressing satisfaction with the scheme, R N Kumawat, MD of Jaipur Discom, said, “Engineers have been instructed to issue notices to DC and PDC consumers in accordance with regulations.” TNN
