Army: Online Gaming: Army Jawan Conned Of ₹7.4l | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: An Army jawan has lodged an FIR at Churu Sadar police station stating he was cheated nearly Rs 7.40 lakh by a con under the pretext of doubling his money through an online gaming app.
According to the FIR, the accused claimed that he had made a fortune through online gaming and was ready to help the victim in earning more money by creating his ID on a gaming app. According to police, complainant Dharmendra Kumar (32) received a phone call almost an year ago on his phone.
“The caller told him that he got his phone number from a WhatsApp group. Later, the accused told to him that he was making 10 times of what he was putting in a gaming app and allured Dharmendra to invest his money,” said a senior police officer on Friday. The con also claimed that he would cover the risk and return the actual amount of Dharmendra whenever the latter wanted to quit from the app. “Finally on August 31 last year, Dharmendra Kumar first transferred Rs 30,000 and later Rs 4.10 lakh. However, for the next few months, the victim waited for some returns. Initially, the accused kept telling him that he will win and return the money,” the officer added.
