NEW DELHI: Congress general secretary KC Venugopal held a follow up discussion with Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot, indicating that the party may finally be coming around to settle the tussle in the state unit. Venugopal visited Jaipur on Thursday evening for a wedding, after which he is learnt to have held talks with the two leaders.
Congress wants to settle the problems in its Rajasthan unit ahead of the end year assembly elections, so that the party could go into the polls with the sort of organisational unity that is required in a tough contest to seek a repeat mandate. The party is also concerned that a problem in Rajasthan could affect the neighbouring state of Madhya Pradesh, which also goes to polls in November along with Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.
