Govt School Teacher Booked For Molesting Two Female Students | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: A government school teacher in Jaipur was booked under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act on Saturday for allegedly touching two of his students inappropriately at the school. The move followed a complaint filed by a 17-year-old female student against him.
While the complainant is a student of class 12 at the school, her female cousin studies in class 10 there. “As per the 17-year-old girl’s complaint, the accused, who teaches Geography at the school, touched her inappropriately on Friday,” said a police official.
The girl said in her complaint that the teacher misbehaved with her when the practical examinations were underway at the school. “She said the accused asked her to keep mum about the matter because he is married and would face problems,” added the official.
The girl said in her complaint that she also found her 16-year-old cousin was going through the same ordeal for the past several days. “She said her cousin had complained to the headmaster about the teacher’s behaviour,” added the official.
The complainant told police that some other girls in her class also shared similar stories about the accused teacher’s misconduct. “We have filed a case under relevant sections of IPC and POCSO Act. Further investigation is underway. We are trying to arrest the accused,” said the official. The families of the two girls and local villagers expressed anger at the schoolteacher and demanded his arrest as soon as possible, said police. “We have assured them of a proper investigation into the case,” added the police official.
