Axed JMC-H mayor to face probe as FIR cites her role | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: Trouble seems to be growing for the sacked JMC-H mayor Munesh Gurjar after the FIR registered by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) mentioned that she allegedly took bribe along with her husband to approve lease deeds.

On Sunday, ACB filed an FIR in the bribery case in which it arrested Sushil Gurjar, the mayor’s husband, and two middlemen on Friday. According to the FIR, the complainant alleged that he had visited Munesh Gurjar’s house to obtain lease deeds and that she and her husband demanded a bribe of Rs 2 lakh for the work. He also alleged that the couple refused to approve the documents till the bribe was paid.
The complainant also claimed that about five lease deed applications of his acquaintances were pending with JMC-H and that bribe was demanded for their approval.

As per the FIR, both Munesh and her husband demanded bribe through their agents and middlemen. The FIR says Munesh allegedly kept all the files related to such applications at her house, and her husband then asked for bribe to get those files approved.
Sushil Gurjar was arrested by ACB on Friday night for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh he had sought for issuing of a land deed to a person. Two middlemen – Narayan Singh and Anil Dubey – were also arrested by ACB in connection with the case. All the three accused were remanded to police custody for two days.
ACB officials said while suspended mayor Munesh Gurjar has not been named in the FIR’s list of accused so far, she is likely to be probed based on the allegations levelled against her.
