Bajaj Nagar: Man Again Harasses Girl He Raped A Year Ago | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: A 23-year-old man was arrested by Bajaj Nagar police here on Sunday evening for raping a 15-year-old girl. Though the family of the girl had initially excused the man since he had apologised for the rape that took place a year ago, they lodged an FIR since the accused again started harassing the girl.
According to the police, the family of the minor girl on April 1 had lodged an FIR stating that the accused had raped the girl almost a year ago when she was on her way to school.
“The accused grabbed her and raped her at an isolated place. The girl had narrated her plight to her parents. Later, the accused and his family apologised to the girl. Her family decided not to lodge an FIR.
However, the accused began to harass the girl and her family decided to lodge a rape case,” said a senior police officer of Bajaj Nagar police station on Monday.
Police said that the girl was very scared when the accused again started teasing her and asked for her mobile number. “We arrested the accused on Sunday evening,” said an officer.
Police will record the girl’s statements. “We will also try to file an early charge-sheet in the case,” the officer added.
