The Bharatpur police, though, remain on high alert and have intensified patrolling in Meo-dominated areas. Alwar and Bhiwadi police also held flag marches in Meo-dominated villages on Thursday and have increased patrolling to ensure law and order.
Divisional commissioner Sanwarmal Verma had ordered suspension of internet services in four police station areas on Tuesday.
“Internet services have been restored at Pahari, Kaman, Nagar and Sikri areas in Bharatpur. Still, our cyber teams and various police stations are keeping an eye on social media activities. In case of any inflammatory message or post, appropriate action will be taken,” said Rupinder Singh, inspector-general of police, Bharatpur range.
Singh added that the patrolling at areas including Gopalgarh, Pahari, Kaman, Khoh, Jurhera and Sikari would continue. “Every vehicle coming with registration number of Haryana, especially from Firozpur Jhirka and Nuh Mewat, is being properly checked. Also, patrolling has been intensified since Tuesday in the region,” he said.
Police in Alwar and Bhiwadi also conducted patrolling and flag marches in Meo-dominated areas. “The traffic on the national highway 48 connecting Jaipur to Delhi via Behror and Bhiwadi in Alwar is smooth. We will not let anyone disturb law and order. Our teams are patrolling the highways as well as interior villages,” said a senior officer of Alwar police.
Bhiwadi police had arrested nine persons on charges of vandalising at least five shops on Tuesday. “A total of nine persons are accused of damaging property and vandalising shops, of which five have been arrested,” said an officer of Bhiwadi police.
