Jaipur: A day after the state Cabinet cleared the creation of 19 new districts, groups demanding district status for Sambhar-Phulera, Sujangarh and Suratgarh on Saturday decided to intensify their agitation.
The Sambhar-Phulera Zila Banao Samiti said that if the twin towns were not listed as a new district in the government notification, they will take out a march to Jaipur.
“The civil society here has decided that we will gherao the state assembly on July 14,” said D D Kumawat, convenor of the samiti.
Similar warnings were made by groups representing residents of Sujangarh in Churu and Suratgarh in Sriganganagar. TNN
