Call Of Duty: Jda Proposes Panel To Restore City’s Old Bridges | Jaipur News

Jaipur: In a recent meeting of the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) a proposal was floated to form a committee to restore the conditions of a few old bridges and rail overbridges in the city. Officials said a few puliyas in the city are quite old and they need a complete restoration.

“Our zonal engineers carry out routine inspections of each and every puliyas in the city religiously. However, despite this, the condition of a few puliyas are not in a good shape because these are quite old. So, a proposal had been floated during a recent meeting to form a committee and find out ways for complete restoration of these puliyas,” said a JDA official.
Officials said one such puliya is the Tonk Phatak puliya that was constructed in 1973. Barakatullah Khan, the then chief minister of Rajasthan, inaugurated the puliya and over the years the condition of this puliya has deteriorated. The matter came into light when JDA engineers tried to remove the walls of the underpass located underneath the puliya.

“According to the proposal, JDA can form a committee from its panel of engineers or might outsource an expert in the committee. The idea is to find out ways for complete restoration, besides the routine maintenance work,” another official added.
