Government School: Labourer Dies During Repair Work At Govt School In Baran | Jaipur News

Kota: A labourer was killed on the spot while three others sustained injuries after an under-repair ceiling of a room at government senior secondary school in Seswali town of Baran district caved in on Saturday morning. The deceased labourer was identified as Pappulal Kumhar (55), a resident of Seswali town.
Kumhar’s family members refused to take his body for last rites after postmortem later in the day and demanded compensation of Rs 20 lakh as well as action against the school authorities.
“’The family members along with with other villagers staged dharna at Seswali and refused to take body for last rites,” circle offcer of the area, Vijay Kumar said.
The body was put in mortuary and attempts were underway to convince the family to take it, the officer said.
Four labourers were engaged in repairing the ceiling of the room in the old building portion of the school when the ceiling of stone slabs caved in, killing Pappulal on the spot and leaving three others injured, said SHO at Seswali police station, Ramratan Kushwah.
The labourers were rushed to a local hospital where doctors declared Pappulal dead and referred one labourer, identified as Gourdhanlal (55) of the same town, in critical condition to the MBS Hospital in Kota, Kushwah said.

The goal is to increase the number of registered workers from 13.4 lakh to 15 lakh in the current financial year. The government offers assistance under 17 welfare schemes, including disability pension, medical assistance, and maternity benefit. Additionally, a skill development program will be launched to improve workers’ skills and create more job opportunities. A newsletter will also be distributed at construction sites to provide information on welfare initiatives.
