Ceos To Be Held Responsible For Payments Sans Physical Check | Jaipur News
Jaipur: The additional chief secretary (ACS) of the rural development and panchayati raj department, Abhay Kumar, on Wednesday said that the CEOs of zila parishads would be held responsible if the quality of construction under MGNREGS is found poor, and payment is made to contractors without physical verification of the work.
In a bid to ensure transparency in MGNREGS work, the state government has made it mandatory for the rural development and panchayati raj department to click pictures of compaction with road rollers at different stages of the construction of roads.
It has also been made mandatory to put the toll-free helpline number (1800-180-6127) on an information board related to the construction work at the site so that the public gets information about the work. Kumar issued these instructions during a meeting of the CEOs of zila parishads through video conference.
Kumar said there should be 100% verification of work and measurement books in every district. “No payment should be made if there is an investigation pending against anyone,” he said. tnn
