Jaipur: The country is tackling in a planned manner many challenges emerging out of farmers moving towards expensive crops and diversifying crops and along with elimination of middlemen in the sale of produce, said Union agriculture and farmers’ welfare minister Narendra Singh Tomar.
While addressing the students at the 4th Convocation of Post Graduate Diploma in Agri-Business Management of Chaudhary Charan Singh National Institute of Agricultural Marketing (CHSIN-NIYAM), Tomar said, “There are many challenges in the agriculture sector, in which the Central government is successfully moving forward in collaboration with the states and extensively using technology to address them”.
Underlining the importance of the agriculture sector, Tomar said that it is important in the nation’s interest and the youth should embrace it as their responsibility towards the nation. “The agriculture sector has immense potential to create job opportunities and working in these sectors is akin to patriotism,” Tomar said.
