Charred Men In Vehicle: Six Detained, Lens On Hry Cops | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: Bharatpur police investigating the murder case of two persons who were kidnapped and burnt alive in Haryana said that they have detained six persons in this connection and were interrogating them to make further arrests.
Police will also probe the role of Haryana police who had allegedly beaten up the two victims as suspects in cow smuggling prior to their murder. Family of the two deceased had already alleged that both were beaten up by the Haryana police and cow vigilantes and were later released before the cow vigilantes again picked them up and set them on fire.
A day after arresting the accused identified as Rinku Saini, police teams of Gopalgarh police station of Bharatpur and others were raided places in Bharatpur and parts of Haryana especially in the Mewat region. Though the senior police officers of Bharatpur are tight lipped on the developments, if any it is learnt from the sources that at least six persons are detained and are under intense interrogation.
“Various teams are working on the arrests, and we have got some clues and are developing them. Few persons are under questioning. The interrogation of accused Rinku Saini has given us a few more names which were not mentioned in the initial FIR. Three of our teams are presently in Haryana and we have got specific inputs on the whereabouts. Rinku was produced in the court and is now taken in a police remand of five days. He has been an important catch for us as he would be interrogated on the whole conspiracy,” said Gaurav Srivastav, inspector general of police, Bharatpur.
The family of Junaid had alleged on Friday that both were first detained by the Haryana police and were thrashed badly by them and were left in the jungle and were later caught by the cow vigilantes.
Asked if Bharatpur police will also probe the role of Haryana police in this case, a senior officer, said, “The investigation is underway and we will not let any loose end. It is learnt that a team of cow vigilantes had taken the two as suspects of cow smuggling at Firozpur Jhirka police station of Haryana. Both were badly beaten up. Later, the police asked them to leave the two accused. So, this is what arrested accused is claiming. So, we will also investigate this part and collect corroborative evidence.”
Junaid (39) and Nasir (25) were residents of Ladamkha village near Gopalgarh of Bharatpur and were allegedly kidnaped on Wednesday from Piruka area under Gopalgarh police station. They were spotted in Haryana with visible injuries in a vehicle in which they were kidnapped on Wednesday. A day after two skeletons were found in a charred vehicle which belonged to one of the accused.
Meanwhile, early in the day Zahida Khan the member of legislative assembly from Kaman constituency of Bharatpur led a 25-member delegation and met the chief minister Ashok Gehlot.
“We have requested chief minister Ashok Gehlot to direct police for the pending arrests in this case and the police should pursue the case strongly in the court for stern punishment for this heinous crime,” she told TOI.
