After search in the field and house, the body was recovered from the tin box and was rushed to hospital, where police handed it over to the family members after postmortem on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Nodayanbai Meghwal, wife of Balaram, a resident of Semliya village under Sunel police station of Jhalawar district.
A scuffle over sale of a goat from the house reportedly erupted between deceased woman and her son on Thursday evening when the boy allegedly thrashed her with some blunt weapon causing her deep injuries into head and body, Sunel SHO Dinesh Kumar Sharma said.
The boy later covered the body in a blanket and hid it in a tin box in his house, he added.
When the boy’s father reached home in the evening from work, he asked for his mother following which the boy replied she was in the field, but she was not found there, the SHO said, adding a search was also conducted in neighboring houses but she was not found following which the father asked boy strictly upon which he admitted to have thrashed her to death and put her body into a tin box.
