Cong Prez Postpones Meet With Raj Leaders | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday postponed the proposed meeting with poll-bound state leaders, including Rajasthan.
No fresh date has been fixed for the meeting as of now as the party leaders are said to be busy with the offensive on Modi government’s nine years in office and the controversy regarding the alleged sidelining of the president in the inauguration of the new Parliament building.
It was expected that the party would find some solution to end the infighting in the state Congress in the meeting.
On the day the meeting was postponed, chief minister Ashok Gehlot, the other day, dismissed as ridiculous Sachin Pilot’s demand for compensation to candidates affected by paper leaks as nothing but ‘intellectual bankruptcy’. This was his first public comment on his demands. The CM has publicly mentioned nothing about the other two demands of Pilot including an impartial inquiry into the corruption charges against the previous Raje government and reconstituting the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) with a corruption-free system to prevent paper leaks.
So far, the CM has been avoiding any comment on Pilot’s demands saying that his focus is now on the inflation relief camps.
With the meeting postponed, chances of the leaders’ meeting happening before May 30, the deadline set by Pilot, are slim. All eyes are on Pilot’s next move?
