Congress, Gandhi family are like Rahu and Ketu, says Shah | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: The Gandhi family hasn’t forgotten how the late Congress leader Rajesh Pilot stood up to them and is now “punishing” his son Sachin Pilot for the slight, PM Narendra Modi said on Wednesday while taking another dig at the party’s unresolved leadership tangle in Rajasthan as the electoral battle nears endgame.
“Rajesh Pilot ji only challenged the family once in the interest of the party. He had to bow down, too, but this vengeful family not only punished Rajesh ji, but they are now doing the same to his kid,” he said during an electoral rally in Bhilwara’s Gujjar-dominated Khetri town.
Alluding to Pilot losing the deputy chief ministership and the PCC president’s post after rebelling against CM Ashok Gehlot, the PM said Congress had a history of its first family “destroying anybody who speaks out” against them.
“This is how they run their family-oriented politics,” he said. Modi said Bhilwara was no stranger to communal friction, for which he blamed the Congress government.
“Congress gave rioters a wide berth. If Congress remains in government, migration will increase, as will crimes against women and the poor. This is the time for Congress to leave Rajasthan forever.”
Congress, Gandhi family are like Rahu and Ketu, says Shah
Union home minister Amit Shah on Wednesday compared Congress and the Gandhi family to Rahu and Ketu (bad omens) for India’s destiny.
Addressing an election rally in Pali, he said the challenges the country faces are due to Congress and the Gandhi family.
“As you gave all 25 Lok Sabha seats from Rajasthan to BJP, it has empowered Modi-ji to raise the tricolour on the Moon through Chandrayaan. By holding the G20 Summit, he has showcased the power of India’s diplomacy,” Shah said.
“He worked round the clock to give 33% reservation to mothers and sisters in the new Parliament. But what is this Gehlot government doing? There are 19 cases of rape every day. Of the rape incidents across the country, 22% were recorded in Rajasthan,” he said.
Charging Congress with betraying 40 lakh youth due to paper leaks, he said, “Who is behind the paper leaks? The Congress government is behind the record number of paper leaks. It is deliberately done to give government jobs to Congress party supporters.” He assured the crowd that if BJP forms government it will investigate all cases of corruption and paper leaks. “This is the 21st public address. I am here telling Gehlot Sahab that the people of Rajasthan have leaked the paper of the elections and made it clear that Congress is losing the polls.”
Addressing the villagers, who came to the meeting wearing red turbans, he said, “Do not go in front of Ashok Gehlot wearing a red turban because the colour red reminds Gehlot of the red diary which has an account of his corruption.” He reiterated that if elected to government, they will buy wheat at Rs 2,700 per quintal.
