Congress leader murdered at farmhouse in Barmer village | Jaipur News
JAISALMER: Unknown assailants slit the throat of Aam Singh, 68, a Congress leader in Mithoda village in Siwana police station area in Barmer district, while he was sleeping at his farmhouse late on Monday night. Balotra additional SP, Balotra CO, forensics team and a dog squad reached the farmhouse to investigate and find evidence.
Family members and villagers refused to let police take away the body for postmortem. SP Digant Anand persuaded them to let the postmortem be done under the medical board. The family members then said they would not take away the body till the murderers were arrested. Balotra ASP Subhash Chandra Khoja said that at around 2am, unidentified people came to the farmhouse and slit Aam Singh’s throat.
On Tuesday morning when his son went to serve tea, the body was lying in a pool of blood. According to police, the murderers took away Singh’s gold chain and rings. More than Rs 10 lakh kept in a vehicle at the farmhouse was found to be safe. Nothing else was stolen. Police are examining CCTVs near the spot and making inquiries, ASP Khoja said.
