Congress: There’s Strong Undercurrent In Cong Favour, Will Form Govt, Says Gehlot | Jaipur News

Jaipur: CM Ashok Gehlot on Friday said there is a strong undercurrent in favour of the ruling Congress in the state and that he has sensed as much while campaigning across the state. There is a pro-incumbency wave, he asserted.
Villages that previously voted in favour of BJP are now turning to Congress after getting the benefits of the schemes of the Congress government and learning of its policies, said Gehlot a day before polling for Rajasthan assembly election is held.
“I believe that this undercurrent and pro-incumbency will ensure the victory of our candidates, who many felt might not win. If this undercurrent works in our favour, we will form the government,” said Gehlot, urging the people to turn out in big numbers on polling day on Saturday.
The CM added, “Voting is the democratic right of every citizen, and they must exercise it. Opposition leaders who come here from Delhi when elections are around the corner only end up provoking people. BJP has neither offered an alternative nor been critical of our campaign promises. They could have questioned our guarantees but they instead tried to instigate the people.”
Gehlot posted on his X handle a video of his former deputy, Sachin Pilot, which shows the latter highlighting the work of the state government and urging voters in the state to choose Congress and change the trend of parties alternately forming governments every five years. In the run-up to elections, Gehlot and Pilot have presented a united face in the campaigns and jointly addressed quite a few public meetings.
