Constable Accused Of Rape Sent To Jail By Court | Jaipur News

Jaisalmer: The head constable of Siwana police station in Barmer, Jeevaram, was on Saturday arrested on charges of rape and produced in court, which sent him to judicial custody. Police said they had the victim’s statement recorded before the magistrate under CrPC section 164 after getting her medically examined.
The victim had given a complaint to the SP on Thursday that on June 20 at about 10pm, she had gone to a shop to bring curd for home. On the way, head constable Jeevaram stopped her and pulled her inside a shop, the shutters of which he downed. When she shouted for help, Jeevaram threatened to lock her up. He forced her to drink alcohol and then raped her, the victim stated in her complaint.
She said that after about 4-5 hours, Jeevaram threw her out of the shop and said that if she told anyone about it, he would implicate her family in a false case.
On the instructions of Barmer SP Digant Anand, a case of rape was registered at Siwana police station and Jeevaram sent to lines the same day. The investigation of the case was handed over to Balotra DSP Neeraj Kumar Sharma.
