Cops Nab 3 More With Illegal Arms | Jaipur News

Additional commissioner of police (crime) Kailash Chandra Bishnoi said that the crime branch intercepted information about the movement of arms in Jaipur a few days ago.
In the first raid, the team arrested Sacchinand Sharma and recovered four illegal pistols, 14 live cartridges, 166 pellets, three airguns, and a pair of walkie-talkies.
Sharma was arrested and handed over to the Mahesh Nagar police station, where a case under the Arms Act has been registered against him.
A second team conducted a raid in Sodala where it arrested Mohamamd Tahir and Sumrat Lal Meena with a pistol and a live cartidge.
“Sharma is a native of Sawai Madhopur district. His current whereabouts were found to be in the city’s Mahesh Nagar area. We got leads from the recovery of walkie-talkies, which can facilitate communication over short distances,” Bishnoi said.
He said that the airguns were probably purchased to threaten people. “It is difficult for a layman to discern an airgun from other firearms. When fired, airguns make a loud explosion,” Bishnoi said.
However, during interrogation, the accused claimed that they purchased airguns for personal enjoyment and for firing during the festival of Diwali.
