Councillor Brings Trash To Protest | Jaipur News

Jaipur: JMC-Greater’s Malviya Nagar zonal office witnessed drama on Wednesday noon as councillor Karan Sharma of ward 134 reached there carrying bags full of garbage to stage a protest against the irregular garbage collection system and lack of development work in the area.
Sharma emptied the garbage bags in front of the zonal office and started chanting slogans against the corporation.
He told TOI that residents in his wars were suffering for the last 15 days as garbage-collection vehicles were not showing up.
“We have informed the authorities concerned several times, but to no avail. Residents of the area complain to me regarding the worsening conditions, and I feel completely helpless. This protest is to let authorities know the problems people are facing,” said Sharma.
The councillor and his supporters met the JMC-Greater officials and put forth their demands later in the day. They warned the officials that if their demands were not fulfilled in five to seven days, they would bring 50 pickup trucks full of garbage to JMC-Greater headquarters at Lal Kothi and dump the garbage in the compound.
JMC-Greater officials said that new zone-wise tenders would be invited soon to take care of sanitation problems prevalent across the city.
