Covid-19: India reports 45,951 new cases, 817 deaths in last 24 hours | India News

NEW DELHI: India on Tuesday reported 45,951 daily new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, pushing the country’s total tally to 3,03,62,848, according to data from the Union health ministry at 9am. Yesterday, the country reported less than 40,000 daily new cases after 102 days.

The country recorded 817 fresh fatalities in last 24 hours, taking the total death toll count to 3,98,454.

Daily recoveries continued to outnumber the daily new cases for 47th consecutive day. With 60,729 more people recovering in the last 24 hours, the number of total people recuperated from Covid stands at 2,94,27,330, the ministry said.
Meanwhile, the active caseload has further declined to 5,37,064. It is 1.77% of total infections.

The daily positivity rate stands at 2.34%, which is less than 5% for 23 consecutive days. The weekly positive rate stands at 2.69%.
A total of 19,60,757 samples were tested on June 29 for detection of Covid-19. The country has tested a total of 41,01,00,044 samples so far.
As many as 33,28,54,527 Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive so far.
