In the retaliatory fire two persons were injured and it was clear that the vehicle from which firing was done had Lukka, her female companion and his aides,” said Manoj Gupta, superintendent of police, Dholpur.
Police said that the interception of the jeep during the search led to a gunfire exchange with Lukka and his associates.
“Soonafter the firing the main accused Dharmendra Gurkar, his female companion and three others managed to flee taking advantage of the darkness. Those who were injured in the firing included Ravi Gurjar who is also brother of Lukka Gurjar and one Ashok Gurjar. Both were admitted to the hospital where they are undergoing treatment,” Gupta added.
According to police, a reward of Rs 25,000 already stands announced on Dharmendra Gurjar. “He entered the world of crime to take revenge for his brother’s murder in 2009. In 2017 he jumped parole and in 2020 he threatened minister Ramesh Meena and also former MLA Giriraj Singh Maliga,” he added.
