Cultural heritage training camp concludes at City Palace | Jaipur News

The closing ceremony of the one-month-long cultural heritage training camp was held at City Palace, on Tuesday. Erstwhile Jaipur princess Gauravi Kumari graced the event as the chief guest. The participants of the camp performed various traditional arts such as Dhrupad, Kathak, Rajasthani folk dance, flute, and beautiful recitations of verses from the Bhagavad Gita. Additionally, an exhibition of paintings featuring ancient frescoes, blue pottery, Kangra style, Jaipur style and Kishangarh style created by the trainees was also displayed. Gauravi saw the exhibition and appreciated the talent of the participants. The camp was organized under the joint aegis of Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum, Rangreet Institute and Saraswati Kala Kendra.

Appreciating the participants and their talents, Gauravi said, “I am excited to be a part of this event. Participants from different age groups actively participated in this camp to learn our traditional and vanishing arts. Today’s program is a reflection of their hard work and dedication. My family has always endeavored to promote the art and culture of the city through such camps as well as explain the importance of these cultural and traditional arts to the younger generation.”

The program also witnessed Dhrupad performance under the guidance of Dr Madhu Bhatt Tailang, in which the participants recited shlokas, Ganesh Vandana, and Vedic mantras. Later, under the guidance of RD Gaur, a flute performance was presented. The ceremony concluded with beautiful dance performances of ‘Kathak’ and ‘Ghoomar’ from Jaipur Gharana, directed by Dr Jyoti Bharti Goswami, where girls from different age groups showcased their talents. on the occasion, Ramu Ramdev, OSD of the Art and Culture Department of the museum, and Rama Dutt executive trustee of the museum were also present.
