Woman Among Three Held For Extorting Money From Bizmen | Jaipur News
Jaipur: The special team of Muhana police station on Saturday busted a gang and arrested three persons, including a woman, for extorting money from wealthy businessmen by threatening to sully their image. The police have identified the accused as Vikas Choudhary (27), Durgeshwa Rai (19), and Sonali Paresh (20). The gang was busted when a Maharashtra-based businessman alleged that the gang had extorted Rs 50,000 from him by first recording his photos with a woman and then making him record a false confession that he had sexually assaulted the same woman…
” The accused abducted the businessman on May 26 when he had come to Jaipur on a business trip to finalise a deal that was in pipeline for a long time,” said an official, adding that the accused took the victim to a secluded plot of land where they repeatedly struck him until he agreed to pay the money. The businessman was able to escape and file a complaint with the police, who arrested the three accused when CCTVs showed movement of three suspects at the same place where the victim was held captive. They have been booked for extortion, kidnapping, and criminal intimidation.
The police probe uncovered that the gang used to conduct recce of prominent hotels in Jaipur to monitor businessmen arriving from various cities. They would find a way to establish contact with them. Once a meeting was arranged, the accused would then abduct their intended targets.
