Demolition Of Illegal Hotel In Walled City Continues; Diya Kumari Meets Victim’s Kin | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The demolition of an illegal hotel in the Walled City continued for the second day on Wednesday while family members of the suicide victim are still protesting at Chandi Ki Taksal. A part of the hotel, which has four floors (basement, ground and two floors) was demolished till 3am on Wednesday.
The family has still not removed the body and are demanding action against cabinet minister Mahesh Joshi and others, who allegedly pressurized the victim and did not let him construct a house. The family also demanded compensation from the state government, resignation by Joshi, government job to member of victim’s family and let them construct their house. On Wednesday evening, Rajsamand MP Diya Kumari visited the site, met the victim’s family members and demanded for justice from the state government.
“We have been living here since past 60 years in a house with a tin shed. For a pucca house, we applied for land lease and got it in 2017. Finally when we started construction of our house two months ago, we were given a notice and were constantly pressurised by officials and the minister against construction,” said Ram Kishor Meena, father of deceased Ram Prasad Meena.
Dileep Kumar Sharma, deputy commissioner of Hawa Mahal zone said, “The owners were constructing the hotel at their own risk despite knowing that action is being taken.
