Dholpur: Farmer Shot Dead By 5 In Dholpur | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: A 45-year-old farmer was shot dead by unknown assailants on Wednesday evening when he was working at his farm at Haat Maidan ward number 10 under Rajakhera police station of Dholpur.
The family of the deceased, Chotey Lal Thakur, lodged an FIR naming five people. Police said the murder was the outcome of some old dispute.
Thakur was shot dead when he was working at his farm and his wife was offering fodder to the cattle there. As per the FIR, the accused, identified as Tapendra, Hari Singh, Renu, Ravi and Yogesh, came with arms and started abusing Thakur.
“When Thakur protested, Tapendra opened fire with a country-made pistol. The bullet hit his neck and he died on the spot,” said an official of Rajakhera police station on Thursday.
Thakur’s relatives rushed to the spot on hearing the firing. A team of police and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) officials soon arrived. Thakur’s body was handed over to his family after post-mortem, said police. In the FIR, Thakur’s family said Tapendra had a dispute with the family for a long time. The reason behind the dispute remains unclear, said the official.
