Disneyland: Chandrayaan, Disneyland To Be Themes Of Durga Puja | Jaipur News

Jaipur: From Chandrayaan III, Vikram launcher and Pragyan to the world-famous theme park of Disneyland!
As Bengalis in Jaipur geared up for the forthcoming Durga puja, one can witness these pieces of artworks in the Pink City on four days of puja starting from October 21.
While a puja committee in Muralipura would design the venue of the puja depicting the castle of Disneyland, another puja committee nearby has decided to pay homage to the scientists of Indian Space Research Organisation by making models of Chandrayaan III along with the Vikram launcher and the Pragyan Rover to be kept inside the venue.
“Kolkata is known for its Durga puja for its artworks. Our aim is to involve artists and turn the Durga puja venue into an artwork so that the people of Jaipur would have a glimpse of Kolkata in the Pink City itself. As the first committee to introduce theme puja in Jaipur, we had made Lotus Temple of Delhi last year. This year, we had gone international. Our theme is ‘Ma Durga in Disneyland’,” said Samir Dandapat, the secretary of Sarbojonin Puja Utsav Samiti (SPUS).
The members of the SPUS had roped in Shuvenkar Dey – a local artist and an event planner from Amer – to make the model of Disneyland that would be placed at the Muralipura venue of this puja committee and HR official of a private firm.
Not far from this Puja, the Mahadev Nagar Kali Puja Committee had decided to pay their homage to the scientists of ISRO and would showcase the hard works and achievements. They had decided to build structures of the Chandrayaan III, the Vikram launcher and the Pragyan Rover. These structures would be placed at the venue and the rover would be fitted with a LED Screen that would show the footage of landing of Chandrayaan III round the clock.
“In 1984 we started this organization to organize Kali Puja – that happens during Diwali. From last year we had started Durga Puja and thought of doing something different. There can’t be a better way to pay homage to the Indian scientists and to showcase the event that made every Indian proud,” said Sovan Gupta from the Mahadev Nagar Kali Puja Committee and employee of the Provident Fund department.
