JAISALMER: Irked by domestic fights, a couple committed suicide on Thursday evening in Sato village in Jaisalmer’s Jhinjhinyali police station area. At the time of suicide their 1.5-year-old daughter was with her grandmother. SHO Hanumant Singh reached the spot on Friday.
SP Vikas Sangwan said that Pabaram Meghwal, 30, was an alcoholic and often fought with his wife Phuli Devi, 25.On Thursday evening both had a fight on some issue after which the couple committed suicide by hanging from the same noose. They were staying alone so no others knew about the tragedy.
On Thursday night Pabaram’s brother happened to cross their house and knocked at the door. On getting no response he broke open the door with the help of neighbours and found the couple hanging. The SP said that the villagers, family members and parents of Phuli Devi did not suspect any foul play, after which police proceeded with the formalities.
