Jaipur: Reacting to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech during in Bikaner on Saturday, Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasra said the PM let down the people of Rajasthan by not uttering a word on his promise to make the East Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) a national project.
Dotasra said that the PM talks about Jal-Jeevan Mission but despite the Union jal shakti minister being a public representative from the state, Rajasthan did not get any special package under the water supply scheme.
“In Rajasthan, there is a distance of at least 15-km between each hamlet and due to its difficult geographical conditions, the state is entitled to a special package under the Jal-Jeevan Mission. It is due to the central government’s vindictive policy towards Rajasthan that the mission is being executed with 50:50 ratio of central assistance like in other states,” Dotasra said.
