Kota: A man with a criminal background and his female friend were murdered by a history sheeter and two others inside a private hospital in Bhawanimandi town of Jhalawar district on Thursday.
Jitendra Singh and his ailing female friend, identified as Anita Kanwar, were attacked by Bhairu Gurjar and two others with sticks and iron rods at the hospital at around 12pm, Jhalawar SP Richa Tomar said.
“The accused hit Jitendra with sticks and knives, in which the woman received neck injuries. She died on the spot while Jitendra succumbed to critical injuries at Jhalawar district hospital,” she said.
There was an old enmity between Jitendra and Bhairu Gurjar, a history sheeter of Sunel police station of Jhalawar, while over half a dozen cases are registered against Jitendra Singh, added the SP.
“Jitendra Singh had been living with the woman in Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh, for a while. She was married to someone else. The hospital incident is being investigated, and police teams have been formed for the arrest of the accused,” said the SP.
Both Jitendra Singh and Bhairu Gurjar used to work together earlier but had fallen apart and started working separately, said SHO Mangilal Yadav of Bhawanimandi police station. Postmortem of the two bodies was underway at Jhalawar district hospital, he added.
