Ecological Zone: Bjp Councillor Held For Taking ₹30k Bribe From Builder In City | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested a Jaipur Municipal Corporation Greater councillor belonging to the BJP for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000 by promising not to take any action against the complainant’s construction in the ecological zone.
The officials from the bureau said Ramkishore Soyal is a councillor from Ward 123 and he was caught red-handed while taking the bribe.
“The complainant approached the Jaipur unit of the bureau a few days ago, alleging that Soyal had demanded Rs 30,000, promising not to interfere with the ongoing construction of the complainant’s property,” the official added.
Additional SP Bal Ram Meena was tasked with verifying the complaint. After corroborating the allegations, a team set up a trap to arrest the accused while he was accepting the bribe.
Following his arrest, the bureau teams conducted a search operation at premises linked to Soyal for further examination.
“He is a resident of JDA colony near the Paladi Meena area of the city. A case will be filed against him under the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Searches are also being conducted at premises linked to him,” an official said, adding that the team was examining the case to ascertain why he flagged down the construction and if there was a collusion of other suspects in the case.

The principal chief material manager of North Eastern Railway in Gorakhpur has been arrested by the Lucknow unit of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 5 lakh. The accused officer, KC Joshi, was caught red-handed during a trap set up by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). The CBI is currently searching the accused’s residences in Gorakhpur and Noida. The complainant, Pranav Tripathi, had filed an FIR stating that Joshi demanded a bribe of Rs 7 lakh to prevent the cancellation of his firm’s registration on the GeM portal.

A deputy engineer from the Mumbai Building Repair and Reconstruction Board has been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 to clear a pending bill. In another case, three individuals, including the executive director of the Karnataka Examinations Authority, have been booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act for taking money to secure a medical seat. The ACB also caught a revenue inspector in Machilipatnam accepting a bribe of Rs 38,000. Meanwhile, the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi is set to launch an anti-corruption portal next week.
