Jaipur: From October, residents who are handicapped, elderly, widow and suffering from silicosis will not have to go to the E-mitra centers or kiosks to avail the services as it will be provided free of cost to the beneficiaries at home. After the facility is introduced, they will be assisted to carry out all E-mitra related works including verification of social pension at home.
An official of the department of information technology & communication (DOIT&C) said, “The tenders for the service have been invited and work orders will be issued by the last week of September. The facilities are likely to start in October.”
At present, many residents falling under the described category have to visit E-Mitra centres for social pension verification, add names in ration card, procure caste, domicile and Palanhar scheme certificate. “As these residents are old and physically challenged, the state government under ‘Chief Minister’s responsibility scheme’ has decided to provide the facility free of cost,” added the official.
Elders aged 60 years or more and do not have any assistance at home, a widow woman who does not have any male member in the house, a disabled man or woman who does not have any other supporting person in the house and patients suffering from silicosis can avail the facility.
To take advantage of this scheme, the beneficiaries will have to call on the chief minister’s helpline number 181. “After calling, the applicant will have to inform them about the nature of work, which is to be done at E-mitra. Following this, an e-mitra representative will visit the house and take a copy of the documents for applying. Once the application is approved, the certificate generated will be delivered to your home via post,” said the official.
The executive of the company will also prepare a data of such people falling under these categories and make a telephone call regularly to provide the assistance.
