Encroachment: Jda’s Enforcement Dept To Clear Lal Kothi Sabji Mandi Encroachment | Jaipur News

Jaipur: As the road adjacent to the Lal Kothi Sabji Mandi would play an important role once the Laxmi Mandir Tiraha becomes signal free, the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has entrusted the enforcement department to make this road encroachment free. Over the years, both sides of this road have turned out to be a vendor zone making it difficult for the motorists to travel.
“We are refurbishing the road and the work is expected to be completed in the next few days. Once completed this would turn out to be an important road for traffic movement. We had asked the enforcement department to clear this stretch as soon as possible,” said a JDA engineer looking after this project.
Recently, the enforcement department had made the adjacent road that would connect Sahakar Marg with the newly constructed underpass – free from street vendors. However, enforcement department officials had made it clear that even if they remove the encroachers, it is not possible for them to keep a strict vigil on these street vendors round the year. To ensure that these vendors don’t return on this road, JDA had a different proposal. “We had planned to send a proposal to JMC-G to reallocate these vendors inside the market. If JMC allows it, we can fix them,” said a JDA official.

Vendors continue to run biz on road renovated by JDA near Lal Kothi mandi
The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has inadvertently provided a secure structure for unauthorized vegetable and fruit vendors to operate on a refurbished road near the Lal Kothi Sabji Mandi. The JDA laid down a cement slab on the road at a higher level than adjacent roads, effectively blocking vehicles from using it. As a result, the vendors have completely blocked the road, making it difficult for any vehicles to pass through. The JDA claims that the road was included in a traffic project and is meant to serve as an alternative road in case of congestion on the main road. However, the JDA is facing challenges in removing the vendors and ensuring smooth traffic flow on the road.
JDA removes encroachment from Lal Kothi for underpass
The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) removed encroachments near Lal Kothi area to make way for an underpass as part of the Laxmi Mandir Junction Traffic Project. The underpass will connect Sahakar Marg with Tonk Road. Vehicles on Sahakar Marg needing to turn right at the crossing will now have to use the underpass. The JDA cleared the area by removing tin sheds, tarpaulin-bamboo structures, dhabas, fruit-flower shops, and carts. Previous anti-encroachment drives had been conducted in the area.
