‘PM Narendra Modi must take call on kids’ vaccination’: Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: Rajasthan Pradesh Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra on Tuesday demanded that PM Narendra Modi should take a decision on vaccination of children below 18 years as without it education will be the biggest casualty.
“My request to Modi is that there is a need for vaccination of children below 18 years so that they get the protective cover and education without the fear of infection,” said Dotasra, who is also the state education minister.
While addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, he welcomed the decision of the Centre on free vaccination announced by the prime minister and said the Opposition parties have been demanding for free universal vaccination and finally the Centre had to reverse its policy of differential pricing and vaccination above 18+ by the states.
He alleged that the Centre has been trying to defame the non-BJP ruled state governments on vaccine wastage but had not succeeded in its propaganda.
He said Rajasthan which was in the forefront on vaccination with less than 2% vaccine waste was targeted. Realising that it would not succeed in misleading the public, the Centre decided on a course correction on vaccination. He said it is better late than never but added that without vaccination of children, the schools could not be opened and education of children would suffer. The central government had to take a decision on this front at the earliest, he said.
Dotasra also targeted the Centre on the price rise of essential commodities and fuel. He said the party would organise protests before the petrol pumps on June 11 as a mark of protest against the continuing hike in petrol, diesel and LPG prices.
