Extinction Event: Bsf Fair Informs Visitors About Benefits Of Millets In Jaisalmer | Jaipur News
Jaisalmer: With United Nations Organisation (UNO) celebrating 2023 as the international year of millets, 191st battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) at Sutharmandi organised millets fair and also informed about their benefits and various recipes.
According to the information from the BSF official sources, the millets fair at Sutharmandi was inaugurated under the supervision of 191st battalion commandant SR Bairwa.
Many stalls were put up by the BSF displaying various items made of coarse grains like Ragi Balusai, Churma Ragi, Bajra Idli, Jawar Gulab Jamun, Bajre ki Pakodi, Ragi Laddu, etc.
The villagers relished the items.
The BSF also put up a CPC stall and people purchased items of their needs. BSF officers informed about the benefits of millets and inspired them to include millets in their daily lives so that people can remain healthy and keep diseases at bay.
The sources said that in November BSF will be running a pre-recruitment training at Sultana village.
After understanding the initial process, they can join the Indian Army, BSF and police and serve the country.
A BSF officer said that such a programme develops the spirit of coordination between the villagers and BSF so that both can help each other when required.

The project, which has been allocated over Rs 113 crore for a period of five years, involves research institutions and the state agriculture department. The focus is on developing high-yielding varieties of millets, seed production, location-specific crop production technologies, and market linkage. Millets are climate resilient crops with low water requirements and high water use efficiency. They are widely consumed in Bihar in various traditional food items.

BSF recovers Pakistani drone from Punjab’s Ferozepur
A joint operation between the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police led to the recovery of a broken Pakistani drone in Ferozepur, Punjab. The drone was found during a search operation behind the border fence, and it is suspected to have been used for smuggling narcotics. This is not the first instance of drones being used for smuggling in the region, with previous recoveries of heroin and a drone battery in Tarn Taran. The recovered drone was a quadcopter of the DJI Matrice 300 RTK model.
