Extinction Event: Cops To Book Chain Snatchers For Murder As Injured Woman Dies | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Jaipur Police are planning to add a murder charge to the case against two individuals, following the tragic death of a 54-year-old woman who succumbed to injuries sustained while defending herself from two bike-borne snatchers attempting to steal her purse in the Muhana area last year.
The incident took place on October 4 of the previous year when Minkashi Shrivastava was pushed off a scooter by the two suspects while they tried to snatch her purse. The assault left her with severe injuries, and she had been receiving medical treatment until her unfortunate demise on Thursday.
The accused, who was subsequently arrested by the Jaipur Police, were initially charged with an attempt to murder. However, given Shrivastava’s tragic passing, the charges have now been upgraded to murder under IPC Section 302.
Shrivastava was riding a scooter with her husband when criminals on a bike attacked her in an attempt to steal her purse, causing her to fall from the moving scooter. After the accident, her family rushed her to a private hospital in Mansarovar. When she did not regain consciousness there, she was transferred to another hospital. After some time, she was referred to SMS Hospital. Following treatment for several days, the doctors discharged her. Since then, her husband has set up a mini ICU at home. The family spent a significant amount on her treatment, but she did not survive.”
