Extinction Event: No Dhariwal, Joshi In List | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Of the six Independents, five are those who rebelled against the Congress and won as Independents in the 2018 elections. They are Sanyam Lodha from Sirohi, Babulal Nagar from Dudu, Laxman Meena from Bassi, Omprakash Hudla from Mahua, and Khushveer Singh Jojawar from Marwar Junction.
The second list doesn’t have the names of UDH minister Shanti Dhariwal and his cabinet colleague Mahesh Joshi, who are under the fire of the party’s central leadership for staging a rebellion against the central party leaders in 2022.
Sources confirmed that both the names have been put on hold, from Kota North and Hawa Mahal, respectively, following the objection to the candidature of Dhariwal by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Gehlot’s close aide, Dharmendra Rathore, who is seeking a ticket from Ajmer North, too did not figure in the list.
Congress vice-president Naseem Akhtar Insaaf has been chosen from Pushkar. His candidature is against the party line of not giving tickets to a candidate who had lost two consecutive polls. In the first list, too, Archana Sharma, who lost two consecutive polls from Malviya Nagar, was given a ticket.
Candidates from Jaipur are on expected lines. Minister Khachariyawas, Adarsh Nagar MLA Rafeeq Khan, and Kishanpole MLA Amin Kagzi have been renominated from their respective seats.
