Family: Family Of Passenger Shot Dead On Train Wants Compensation | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: The family of Asgar Ali, who was shot dead on Monday by an RPF constable onboard the Jaipur-Mumbai superfast train, on Tuesday demanded suitable ex gratia as Ali is survived by four daughters and a son and was the family’s sole earning member. He worked at a bangle manufacturing unit in Jaipur’s Bhatta Basti area and was going to Mumbai to start working as a cleaner at a mosque there.

Ali’s family members have reached Mumbai but are yet to accept his body as they seek compensation.

The family of Tika Ram Meena, the assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of RPF who was also shot dead by the RPF constable, is waiting at their village in Sawai Madhopur district for the body to arrive. The body is expected to reach their village during the early hours of Wednesday.
TOI spoke to the family members on Tuesday to know their situation. Mohammed Ashfaq, a cousin of Ali who lives in Bhatta Basti, said, “Ali was working as a cleaner in a mosque in Mumbai till 2019. After Covid-19 he returned in April 2020. Since then he was working at a bangle manufacturing unit here. He was the only earning member. As he was not earning well, he decided to go to Mumbai to again work as a cleaner in the same mosque.”
Shahid Ali, the brother of Ali who is in Mumbai, said, “My innocent brother has been brutally killed. We will not move from Mumbai until compensation by the government and the railways is given to us.”
Relatives of Tika Ram Meena said they had not yet informed his wife and mother of his death. “We are told that the body will reach Sawai Madhopur by 3am. From there we will go to our village Shyampura,” said Satya Naryan, a relative of Meena.
Meena is survived by his mother, Goli Devi, wife Barfi Devi, daughter Pooja, and son, Rajendra. The son was in Goa at the time of the incident. He reached Sawai Madhopur late on Monday.
