Flood-like Situation In Hanumangarh Dist As Ghaggar River Swells | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Despite mild showers at Hanumangarh on Friday, a flood like situation has been created in Hanumangarh since Tuesday. District collector Rukmani Sihag has declared a school holiday at Hanumangarh, Tibbi and Pilibanga. Owing to the heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh, water flowed into the drain beds of Ghaggar River.
The Met office said that the monsoon is presently weak in the state and is not going to bring heavy rainfall in the next couple of days. Teams of SDRF, district administration and police were put on a standby to provide safety to the people living in the areas close to the Ghaggar river.
“Haryana released 17,000 cusec water which has also come to Ghaggar River drain beds passing through Hanumangarh. Arrangements are also being made for the diversion of water at Ghaggar diversion canal,” said an officer from Hanumangarh administration. TNN
