Free Power For Farmers Who Consume Below 2,000 Units Per Month, Jobs For Agri Graduates | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Chief minister Ashok Gehlot wooed farmers by announcing many freebies including free electricity to more than 11 lakh farmers who consume less than 2,000 units per month while increasing allocation under Krishak Kalyan Kosh to Rs 7,500 crore from Rs 5,000 crore.
Providing uninterrupted power supply for farming is a priority for the state government, the chief minister said in his Budget speech for 2023-24.
Farmers consuming up to 2,000 units per month will get free electricity from the 2023-24 financial year, Gehlot said. He announced that all pending agriculture connections till Feb 22, 2022 will be given in the next two years.
The chief minister announced the enactment of the Rajasthan Farmers Debt Relief Act in order to protect the land of small and marginal farmers from being auctioned off for debt.
He announced the setting up of an organic commodity board for marketing and certification of organic products.
He announced one more mission for the skill development of young farmers under Rajasthan Youva Krishka Kaushal in addition to 11 missions announced in the last budget The chief minister said 1 lakh rural youths will be given residential training in the maintenance and repair of solar pumps and micro irrigation systems to create more employment opportunities in the rural areas.
About 100 progressive farmers will be sent to Israel to see farming techniques and 5,000 young farmers would be given an opportunity to travel to other states to study various techniques.
Gehlot announced Rs 4 lakh to 1,000 unemployed agriculture graduates for drones for agriculture use.
He announced 1,000 agri clinics and agriculture graduates would be appointed on a contract basis besides increasing allowances to agriculture students.
