AJMER: City police busted a gang of five women, all from Madhya Pradesh, who were running a pick-pocketing recket. Police also recovered surgical blades, mobiles and some cash from their possession. The gang was staying in one of the guesthouses in dargah region.
According to Alwar Gate police, the gang was caught after monitoring several CCTV cameras. The matter came to light when one Amarchand, a resident of Kundan Nagar, lodged a complaint in police station that he had gone to a bank situated at Shrinagar road. He withdrew Rs 40,000 of his pension. When he came out, some women surrounded him.
He had put his money in his bag and started for his house. When he reached home, he found that his bag was cut from bottom and the money stolen.
He filed a complaint in Alwar Gate police station. Police started a search and started looking at CCTV cameras in several areas. Police found that some women were seen standing outside banks.Police investigated and found that all these women had come from Ramgarh in Madhya Pradesh and were staying in a gusthouse in dargah region.
