Gehlot: Gehlot Targets Bjp For ‘doing Politics Over Religion, Cow’ | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday targeted the BJP for politics of religion and polarisation.
He asked, “Am I and you are not Hindus? Politics of polarisation helps them win and we lose adding that religious fanaticism is not good for the country.”
Gehlot was speaking at the Pashupalak Samman ceremony at the State Institute of Agriculture Management campus in Durgapura, Jaipur.
He said, “Why they defame us, it is beyond understanding. They talk about the cow. But when I was the CM for the second time, the first cow directorate was opened in the country. The government changed and in the BJP rule, it was made a department, only the name changed not the work. In five years of BJP rule, only Rs 143 crore was given as grant to gaushalas, whereas we have given Rs 2,313 crore. Now, we have decided to pay grant to nandishalas for 12 months alleging the BJP only pays lip services.”
Gehlot has announced free animal insurance for cattle rearers with income of up to Rs 8 lakh in the state.
Gehlot said in the Chiranjeevi Yojana, the way the government pays the premium for those earning up to Rs 8 lakh, similarly now the government will pay the insurance premium for cattle herders earning up to Rs 8 lakh. The premium of those who have over Rs 8 lakh will be decided after talking to the insurance firms.
The CM said the government has raised medical cover under the Chiranjeevi scheme up to Rs 25 lakh.
