JAIPUR: The state government has imposed a halt on the issuance of lease deeds for plots and houses under the ‘Prashashan Shehron Ke Sang’ campaign.
Following a decision by the State Election Commission, the administration suspended the issuance of subsidised or free lease deeds within urban areas under the campaign. Consequently, more than 60,000 lease deeds have come to a standstill in over 200 municipal bodies across the state.
An official said that on October 2, 2021, the state government initiated the campaign to provide lease deeds at concessional rates. This campaign provided concessions for the lease of plots and houses, name transfers, sub-divisions, and other related services. The government set a target to issue 10 lakh pattas throughout the state under this campaign. In addition to granting exemptions on regularisation fees for colonies situated on agricultural land, the government also waived interest and penalties on outstanding housing board house installments.
As per an official report, the government has issued more than 9.25 lakh pattas by September under this campaign throughout the state.

Jharkhand started their Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy campaign with a thrilling four-wicket win against Puducherry. Chasing 189 runs, Jharkhand had a slow start but turned the game around with contributions from Vikash Vishal and Virat Singh. Anukul Roy and Pankaj Kumar then took charge and scored quickly, leading Jharkhand to victory. Despite a late run-out, Supriyo Chakraborty hit two crucial sixes to seal the win.
