Jaipur: A day after police and civic bodies demolished an illegal restaurant and dairy owned by history sheeter Rahul Meena, the city police said that Meena was pocketing earnings of several lakhs of rupees from them.
Additional commissioner of police (crime) Kailash Chandra Bishnoi said that Meena established an eatery and a diary on land which belonged to the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) and reaped earnings up to Rs 1 lakh every month.
A resident of Vidhyadhar Nagar, Meena encroached upon a significant portion of parkland owned by the JDA in Bhatta Basti.
Bishnoi mentioned that these illegal commercial establishments were operating on government land, and after demolishing the structures, the JDA reclaimed the land. Bishnoi said that police have identified over 200 other history-sheeters who may have amassed illegal wealth through similar means.
