Government Launches Campaign: Govt Launches Campaign, Parents Can Foster 2 Kids | Jaipur News

Under the scheme, a provision has been made by the state government to provide financial assistance of Rs 4,000 per month per child. At present, 51 children are benefiting from the scheme.
Women and child development minister Mamta Bhupesh on Wednesday launched the poster for the foster care campaign and the “Bal Haq” (child rights) e-box, an online portal for lodging complaints regarding any kind of abuse towards children. The minister while launching posters for the initiative said that Rajasthan is the first state to form rules for foster care with proper checks from the child welfare committees. She said that at present 51 children are already in foster care in the state.
“The foster care campaign is an opportunity for children of the age of 0 to 18 years to grow up in a family environment. The government aims to provide a protective environment to the children at homes, in hostels, in schools and at any place in society. Under the foster care campaign, members from child welfare committee will visit the child who is under foster care every week for two months to check the well-being of the child in a new family and, thereafter, one visit per month,” said Bhupesh.
The minister said that the Bal Haq e-box initiative has been started to provide a protective environment to children. Children who are victims of any kind of violence, crime or exploitation can immediately get relief from the child empowerment department by scanning the QR code through ‘Bal Haq E-Box’ or by sending their problems via email.
Arushi Malik, secretary and commissioner of the department for child rights, said, “Children gain understanding of relationships, affection, affinity, knowledge of right and wrong, from the family itself. To ensure proper upbringing of children, the foster care scheme has been started. In the past, other states like West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, and Gujarat have closely observed the Rajasthan government’s foster care scheme. A team from Sri Lanka’s child welfare department also visited Udaipur district to meet children in foster care and described the scheme as praiseworthy.”
