Jaipur: Rajasthan Sahitya Akademi has conferred Kanhaiyalal Sethia Literary Award on senior journalist and author Yash Goyal for his collection of satirical pieces titled ‘Namumkin Neta’ for the year 2022-23.
In his communication, Dr Dularam Saharan, chairman of Rajasthan Sahitya Academy, said the award would be given to Goyal at academy’s annual function here at OTS on May 19. The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 31,000, citation, shawl and a plaque.
Goyal’s book carries 55 satires on various subjects including politics, social and topical issues. “As I am devoted to journalism wholeheartedly, I can easily find sarcasm in every field of the society and active politics that I include in my writings. I have written five books on satire which were published in all national Hindi newspapers and magazines in the last 35 years,” Goyal commented on his writing style. TNN
