Hc Grants Bail To An ‘aide’ Of Leak Accused | Jaipur News
Jaipur: A man arrested in illegal possession of Rs 19.36 lakh, which Jaipur Police claimed to belong to a kingpin of the Udaipur paper leak case, has been granted bail by Rajasthan High court.
A team from Karni Vihar police station in Jaipur had searched a house on December 29 and seized Rs 19.36 lakh from the possession of Hanuman Vishnoi, 48. Police suspected the cash was obtained through examination cheating and a fake degree racket. Police had also claimed Vishnoi was an aide of Bhupendra Saran, a paper leak accused, and registered a case under Sections 420, 406, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B of IPC.
After hearing Vishnoi’s bail application moved by his counsel GS Rajawat, Justice Manoj Kumar Garg granted him bail on Wednesday. Rajawat submitted that the offences against Vishnoi were triable by a magistrate. “The accused is presently in jail, and trial of case will take sufficient long time. Therefore the benefit of bail should be granted to him,” Rajawat told the HC. The bail petition was opposed by public prosecutor Sher Singh Mahla.
The HC granted Vishnoi bail with a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh and two surety bonds of Rs 50,000 each with a condition that he appears in court on each date and whenever called upon.
