Jaipur: The high court has directed the additional chief secretary (home) and DGP to file personal affidavits regarding the steps taken by the home department and police on Supreme Court’s directions on installing CCTV cameras in police stations.
The single bench of Justice Birendra Kumar gave the direction while hearing a criminal petition on the alleged manhandling of the owner of a coaching institute in Bajaj Nagar police station in April. While hearing the petition by Monika Kumari Chaudhary, the court directed the Bajaj Nagar police to furnish the CCTV recordings of April 13-17. But Jaipur East deputy commissioner and SHO Bajaj Nagar police informed the court that there was no video recording available. tnn
